A friend told me today that the following song suits me well since I'm an Optometrist :D
I love this song! So uplifting I'm listening to it on repeat. hehe
Life's so good right now, I feel like I'm walking on air. I love Melbourne!!! It feels sooo good to be back. Currently I'm indulging on a nice long holiday, catching up with dear old friends, dancing the nights away, shopping up a storm, making new friends, and enjoying the company of my dear family. That's a photo of my roommates and I at the dance camp. :)
Suddenly I see
Her face is a map of the world
Is a map of the world
You can see she's a beautiful girl
She's a beautiful girl
And everything around her is a silver pool of light
The people who surround her feel the benefit of it
It makes you calm
She holds you captivated in her palm
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see)
This is what I wanna be
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see)
Why the hell it means so much to me
I feel like walking the world
Like walking the world
You can hear she's a beautiful girl
She's a beautiful girl
She fills up every corner like she's born in black and white
Makes you feel warmer when you're trying to remember
What you heard
She likes to leave you hanging on her word
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see)
This is what I wanna be
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see)
Why the hell it means so much to me
And she's taller than most
And she's looking at me
I can see her eyes looking from a page in a magazine
Oh she makes me feel like I could be a tower
A big strong tower
She got the power to be
The power to give
The power to see
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see)
This is what I wanna be
Suddenly I see (Suddenly I see)
Why the hell it means so much to me

The Brisbane nightscape outside the plane window resembled a cluster of glistening exotic gold and silver jewels in a black treasure box. What a sight to behold. It's a fitting final paragraph to mark the end of my chapter of nomadic working holiday through the many cities of Queensland.
.
The view below stirred a mixed cocktail of feelings; bittersweet, heart warming. Flash backs of special memories rush toward me all at once. I think to the 3 friends who saw me off at the airport and the warm and fuzzy feeling continues to linger. I look back to friendships and memories I accumulated with a smile, so many exciting awe inspiring moments, so many tales of adventure, new faces and nights of solitude.
.
I managed to brave all the big scary rides of all theme parks in Gold Coast. Highlights included the furious ride of superman at movie world; crazy slingshot ride at surfers with hilarious video evidence; that I-left-my-heart-behind hollow sensation from the giant drop at Dreamworld; getting shockingly drenched under the giant bucket at nickelodeon in white water world; and finally laughing till my sides hurt at the new nightmare attraction in Dreamworld.
.
At surfers paradise, I shaked to the tune of shakira, swam under the moonlight at 2am, watched fake Elvis perform while enjoying Copenhagen ice-cream, soaked in the sights and sounds of the vibrant friday night-market, and got constantly mistaken as a Japanese tourist.
.
Brisbane conjured up memories of sunset walks alongside the riverbank, riding the city cat with wind in my face, breakfast at gunshot cafe, the amazingly too-beautiful-to-eat desserts at freestyle café, table tennis tournaments at a house full of aussie uni boys, spa sessions and poker lessons, the craziness that is the fortitude valley on Saturday nights, live music with good company in true aussie spirit under the sun holding an icy cold beer, and that spectacular night view from the mountain overlooking the amazing tropical city that is Brisbane...
.
The sunshine coast offered peaceful beaches and scenic drives along mountain ranges in the hinterland regions. There were artistic towns like Montville and Maleny with craft shops galore, selling quirky items from clocks, puppets to delicious handmade fudges. The famous Zinc Bar at Mooloolaba satisfied my weekly dance fetish with sexy latino tunes and plentiful salsa enthusiasts.
.
Lastly, there was the trip to the world’s largest sand island-Fraser Island. It was unusual riding on a 4 wheel drive along the beach. We saw a shipwreck along the beach, and visited green lakes, brown lakes and the crystal-clear aqua lakes that resembled paradise with fine white sands. Our tour guide managed to catch a few turtles for us to enjoy. We shared stories, sunbaked, snorkeled, sandsurfed and laughed at the cheeky cute native dingos that tried to steal our food and football. Night time enjoyment included brushing up my skills in pool, marshmallow toasting by the fireside with stars overhead, and singing with guitar.
.
What have I learnt the most over the past few months of traveling? A realization that I am truly in control of my own destiny, a discovery in new ways of understanding approaches to others and to myself. Solitude can be enjoyable, but you discover how vitally important close friends and families are. Life’s not going to happen when you wait around, when you hope that something bigger and better is going to happen. Why waste time in anticipation and anxiety for the next best thing to come along? It’s happening right here right now, so make the most of everyday, and smile. Because no matter how cliched this may sound, it's the journey that matters, not the destination.
